Dressed to Protest
Dressed to Protest is a social design and fashion fair initiated by Neil Cohen and the restaurant HaAchim, under the satirical brand Con. The event transforms fashion into a platform for civic expression, turning garments into tools of resistance, empathy, and identity.
The fair brought together designers, artists, and activists to create and exhibit protest-wear — from graphic T-shirts and handmade pieces to symbolic accessories and upcycled clothing. Each piece carried a message, reflecting on moments of protest, solidarity, and collective memory.
Dressed to Protest challenged the boundary between fashion and activism, asking what it means to wear one’s beliefs in public. The initiative received wide attention across media and culture, resonating with a public eager for meaningful design in a time of social tension.
Through Con, the project reframed consumer culture as a site of dialogue and critique, using aesthetics and collaboration as vehicles for protest and hope.
